Iide silica sand is sold as
a casting and construction material, and as a carrier for
agriculture chemicals.
This silica sand is produced from ore found in a natural
sand deposit by crushing, washing, drying and screening. The
product is classified as natural silica sand, and offers a
number of excellent properties in terms of its single
crystal hardness and roundness.

Fresh sand
(washed sand)
After separated from deposits, the ore is washed by water to
enhance the SiO2 grade and dried, and then manufactured as a
product after screening for grain size and form.
Fresh sand
(flotation sand)
The sand
is screened by flotation to enhance its silicic acid grade
by removing iron oxide and alumina. The product meets all
requirements for high-precision casting applications.
Two
kinds of Tochigi silica sand,fresh and reclaimed sand. Fresh
sand is manufactured silica sand from ore (granular silica
rock) excavated from the Mizuki mine. The excavated ore is
crushed, disintegrated washed, dried and screened at the Awano plant, producing the final product with the brand name
of Nikko Silica Sand.
Reclaimed sand is recycled sand produced from molding sand
that was used for casting, which has been calcined and
scrubbed to make usable again.
